Assessment of source material for malting barley breeding

Background. The objective of the research was to identify promising genotypes malting barley in source material developed at Omsk Agricultural Scientific Center. Material and methods . studies were carried out from 2017 2020. southern forest-steppe Western Siberia. target included 13 lines: Sasha × Getman (2 lines), Margret, Podarok Sibiri (3 Omsky 95 Beatrice Despina, Viva, 100 90 Margret. Biochemical assessment grain quality for brewing qualities jointly with Nemchinovka Federal Research Center according GOST 5060-86 (Bаrley brewing. Specifications). Results discussion most lines demonstrating increased yield (5.39–6.21 t/ha) reduced mass fraction protein (11.39–11.92%): (1), (2), (3), Despina. Besides, these had a set following characteristics: evenness (98.7–99.95); filminess (9.3–9.9%), 1000 weight (55.6–57.0 g), extractivity (78.1 78.9%), starch (55,35–56.83%), color (0.15–0.30 EBC units), malt vitreousness (0.0–3.0%). Conclusion ., (1) (2) Despina are recommended further research.
